Pre-Production (About)

A smart camera assistant with a passion for figure skating, food & wine, cats, and yoga: that’s my log line. Hopefully, you’re sold and are ready to read about my adventures and/or hire me because, let’s face it – I’m a cool camera assistant! But if you need more evidence, keep reading below.

I graduated from the University of Delaware (GO BLUE HENS!) in 2003, with my Bachelors in Biology and English. As most college graduates, I chucked my degree into the wind, to pursue a professional show skating career. Because why not? I toured with Holiday on Ice’s “Diamonds” show for 3 years in Europe. Afterwards, I moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2006, ready to make my mark on film, when an opportunity beckoned me back East, to New York City specifically, and a position as a figure skating researcher for ABC/ESPN Sports. This turn of events eventually inspired me to apply to graduate school in 2010. I obtained my Master of Fine Arts in film and video production from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2013. I moved out West to Los Angeles, CA again. Still didn’t stick. After two years and enjoying my self-imposed education on production in Hollywood, I relocated back to North Carolina. Despite finally getting the hang of the LA traffic (when to leave and when to just stay put), I decided to move back East for family reasons. I worked in the crazy world of reality television in Raleigh and Greensboro for two years before packing up and moving to Atlanta, where you can find me now, working on narrative television and films. It’s the 1-year anniversary of my move to Atlanta and you know what? I just might stay put for the long haul.

Tune in for my blog about surviving in this industry, staying active in ice shows, and my latest food craze. It should be a lighthearted, entertaining ride. In the meantime, you can also find my resume and links to my previous and current work on this website. Thanks for visiting!
